Kindness Is Contagious…And We Passed It On!!
Lincoln, RI, January 3, 2006 – Gem Plumbing & Heating’s 2005 Holiday Random Acts of Kindness Program was a huge success! Gem kicked off the 2005 holiday season with a program in which they donated ten, $ 500.00 gifts of kindness to families suffering hardship.

“We received over one thousand stories in a two week period and every letter was heart wrenching” said Anthony Gemma, President of Gem Plumbing & Heating. “We could only choose one per day for ten days and that was agonizing. A few of the stories that were chosen were of tragedies, such as the single Dad of three children who suddenly lost his sixteen year old daughter one week before Christmas…this year. And to baby Brian…who has recently had his second dose of Chemotherapy at the tender age of 5 months. He was diagnosed with cancer at the newborn age of 8 days old. His parents’ strength and courage are nothing short of that of a saint. And, to the children who just received word that their Dad was injured in a roadside bombing in Iraq, and with no way of communicating with him, wonder if when he will return home soon. While not all stories were of tragedy, Dorothy, who works for an extended care facility wished that all of the patients at the facility would have something to open on Christmas morning”. Those are just a few of the many heart warming stories we were able to honor this Christmas season and we look forward to next year’s program”.

The Gem Random Acts of Kindness Program® was established in 2003 with a mission to communicate the importance of acts of kindness and the importance of paying it forward. Gem describes a random act of kindness as the considerate unexpected good deeds that you do that make someone’s day by making them smile.
